Coalfields Retail Park draws 390,000 visitors since soft opening
Coalfields Retail Park has welcomed over 390,000 visitors since its soft opening from Sept 10 to 16. Developer KLK Land aims for five million annual visitors and full occupancy by 1Q2027.
PETALING JAYA (Sept 29): Coalfields Retail Park has seen more than 390,000 visitors since its soft opening from Sept 10 to 16. Its developer, KLK Land Sdn Bhd (KLK Land), said it is confident the retail hub can achieve its target of five million visitors annually. The park is also scheduled to reach full occupancy by the first quarter of 2027.
KLK Land is the property development arm of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK). The 21-acre retail hub forms part of KLK Land’s wider 6,000-acre master plan and serves the 1,000-acre Bandar Seri Coalfields township, which has an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM5.5 billion.
Coalfields Retail Park spans approximately 1 million sq ft of gross built-up area (GBA), featuring more than 100 brands covering retail, dining, entertainment, wellness, family leisure and everyday conveniences. The retail park is also expected to contribute to the township’s commercial and investment activity, with plans underway for a new series of commercial shoplots located nearby.
Further improvements have been made to infrastructure within the township to accommodate its growing community and improve accessibility. These include the progressive widening of access roads along Federal Route 54 towards Sungai Buloh, as well as enhanced pedestrian connectivity.
Coalfields Retail Park complements the existing residential precincts within Bandar Seri Coalfields, alongside the 50-acre Central Park, Residents Clubhouse and educational institutions including Wesley Methodist School and Sekolah Menengah Akademik Kuen Cheng. The retail hub is expected to welcome additional brands in the months leading up to 1Q2027, including Harborland, Serai Ikan Bakar, Circadian (Wellness Hub), Toys"R"Us, MR D.I.Y., Babyshop and Anytime Fitness.
KLK Land managing director Lee Wen Ling said the development reflects the company’s approach towards creating townships that provide value to their surrounding communities. “Our vision is to build townships that add value and this milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to growing alongside the community. We are delighted by the positive response to our soft opening and we truly hope that Coalfields Retail Park will continue to flourish as the heart of the community, while serving the Greater North Klang Valley,” she said.
Coalfields Retail Park also incorporates a 7-acre lake park, landscaped walkways and greenery, creating a setting that combines commercial activity with open and natural spaces. KLK Land said the continued development of Bandar Seri Coalfields is intended to support the township’s growth beyond residential offerings by providing spaces for retail, leisure, social interaction and everyday community activities.
