PETALING JAYA (Oct 19): UDA Holdings Bhd plans to build a 2.5-acre public park beside its Eight & Eight Condominium in Tanjung Tokong, as part of a RM5 million allocation for public parks and recreational facilities in Penang, Bernama reported.
Named Laman Tanjong, the park will provide recreational space alongside the residential development, Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said at the opening of the project's experience centre on Saturday (Oct 17).
Sim also said the Penang government had agreed to convert the condominium development's land tenure from leasehold to freehold, Sin Chew Daily reported.
UDA chief executive officer Datuk Seri Ahmad Fuaad Kenali said Eight & Eight comprises 600 homes across two towers, with completion expected in 2029. Prices start from RM691,628. Three-bedroom, two-bathroom units measure 885 to 1,019 sq ft, while three-bedroom, three-bathroom units measure 1,139 sq ft.
Each floor will feature a single-loaded corridor designed to improve natural lighting and ventilation. Planned facilities include a swimming pool, gymnasium, co-working space and electric vehicle charging stations, Ahmad Fuaad said.
