Suntrust breaks ground on Sonrisa Gardens in Palawan’s Baytown township
Suntrust Properties has broken ground on Sonrisa Gardens, a mixed-use vertical community in Barangay San Pedro, Puerto Princesa. Suntrust Properties, Inc. has broken ground on Sonrisa Gardens, marking another milestone in its Palawan expansion. The vertical community is rising in Barangay San Pedro, Puerto Princesa, within Megaworld-Suntrust’s Baytown Palawan township. Inspired by Palawan’s lush tropical gardens, Sonrisa Gardens is a mixed-use community combining residential spaces, commercial areas and lifestyle amenities.
Spanning 34,955.52 sqm, Sonrisa Gardens will feature seven low-density mid-rise towers. The initial phase of three towers will offer approximately 1,445 residential units, 33 commercial spaces and 236 parking spaces. Designed by LPPA Design Group, the project has received a 5-Star Award for Mixed-Use Architecture in the Asia Pacific Region at the 2025 International Property Awards and the Ani ng Dangal Award 2025 from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) under Architecture and Allied Arts.
The development is minutes from Puerto Princesa International Airport and the city centre, providing residents convenient access to essential establishments. Units include Studio, 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom layouts. Community amenities are inspired by Palawan’s natural beauty and include a swimming pool, fitness gym, function hall and indoor playroom, set within three distinct garden styles: Bamboo Garden, Zen Garden and Flower Garden.
