Philguarantee housing loan guarantees rise 9.44% to P343.39 billion in H1 2026

STATE-OWNED Philippine Guarantee Corp. (Philguarantee) said the housing loans it guaranteed increased 9.44% to P343.39 billion in the first half of 2026.
In a statement, Philguarantee said it “recorded strong growth in its housing credit guarantee portfolio during the first half of 2026, reflecting sustained lending activity and continued demand for affordable housing finance.” The programs it backed included socialized housing loans of the Abot-Kaya Pabahay Fund.
Philguarantee said its programs reached 412,028 beneficiaries in the first six months, reflecting expanded access to affordable and socialized housing. Meanwhile, 58 out of Philguarantee’s 206 partner lending institutions helped expand access to sustainable housing finance.
This reinforced “the corporation’s mandate of strengthening the financial system and enabling more Filipino families to achieve affordable homeownership,” it added.
At the end of June, Philguarantee had backed P684.05 billion worth of loans since the end of 2019. Of the total, P635.75 billion supported socialized and low-cost housing, P33.28 billion went to small farmers and fisherfolk and P15.01 billion to micro, small and medium enterprises.
Of the total, P44.14 billion represented new guarantee enrollments. Luzon accounted for 47.64% or P21.03 billion; the National Capital Region 31.31% or P13.82 billion; the Visayas 14.33% or P6.31 billion; and Mindanao 6.72% or P2.97 billion.
