HGD begins handover of first 129 homes at RM828m Aera Township in Kedah
Heng Guan Development has started handing over 129 homes at Aera Gardens, the first residential phase of its 150-acre Aera Township in Sungai Petani North, Kedah. The RM828 million integrated township is being developed over five phases, with completion targeted by 2032.
PETALING JAYA (Sept 3): Heng Guan Development (HGD) has begun handing over 129 homes at Aera Gardens, marking the first residential handover under its 150-acre Aera Township in Sungai Petani North, Kedah.
In a statement on Thursday (Sept 3), HGD said Aera Gardens had obtained its Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), and that handovers to purchasers have commenced. The township, with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM828 million, is being developed progressively over five phases and is targeted for completion by 2032, according to the developer.
HGD said phases two and three are expected to introduce approximately 1,000 homes by 2028. Aera is planned as an integrated township comprising residential, commercial and lifestyle components.
As part of the Aera Gardens handover, HGD said each homeowner will receive a bicycle, a gesture that draws on the group’s origins. According to HGD, founder Lim Heng Guan established a bicycle business in Alor Setar in the 1920s before the group subsequently expanded into transportation, automotive and financial services, and later property development.
HGD CEO Lim Tiong Haan said the bicycle handover carried special significance for the group. “Our journey began with bicycles almost a century ago, and today we are giving bicycles to families beginning a new chapter at Aera. In many ways, it brings the story of Heng Guan full circle,” he said.
“We want Aera to be a township where residents can cycle to pick up groceries, enjoy a meal at the nearby commercial precinct, visit neighbours or spend time outdoors with their families, making active and sustainable living part of everyday life.”
