Ex-banker Ryan Ng named PropNex Malaysia's top landed producer three years into real estate career
Former banker Ryan Ng became PropNex Malaysia's top landed producer among 1,600 agents in 2024, just three years after entering real estate. He specialises in luxury landed homes and branded residences, and credits his entrepreneurial mindset for his rapid rise.
Former banker Ryan Ng (REN 44187) was named the top landed producer among 1,600 agents at PropNex Malaysia in 2024, just three years into his real estate career. He was also recognised as a Millionaire Producer and later invited to host a session attended by about 500 agents.
Ng spent about 15 years in banking, where he helped clients secure financing for property purchases. He left the industry five years ago to enter real estate, wanting to be more involved in the entire property journey and to understand how property could create wealth. He specialises in luxury high-end properties, particularly landed homes and branded residences, and his clients are mainly executives and business owners.
Born in Penang, Ng says a nine-to-five career did not match the vision he had for himself and his family. His long-standing interest in property and his enjoyment of seeing people achieve homeownership dreams led him to make the career change. 'What started as a career change became a passion,' he says. 'Today, I see real estate not just as selling properties, but as helping people make better decisions, build wealth and create a better future for their families.'
One of his most memorable sales involved a high-value luxury property for a client with very specific requirements. His toughest deal took almost six months to conclude, requiring multiple rounds of discussions and negotiations. 'There were many rounds of discussions, negotiations and adjustments,' he recalls. 'My focus was never just on getting the transaction signed. It was about finding a win-win solution where both parties felt comfortable with the outcome.'
Ng says the hardest lesson he has learned is not to rush decisions. He now looks at each situation from the perspectives of the buyer, seller and business. 'Making a fast decision is not always the same as making the right decision,' he says. 'Today, I ask myself, 'What is the right decision in the long term?' rather than, 'How can I close this deal today?''
He credits PropNex and his team for providing the culture and opportunities that pushed him to grow. Looking ahead, his goal is to build one of the strongest and biggest teams in real estate, focusing on developing leaders and creating systems. He is also bullish on his home state of Penang, citing the airport expansion, LRT and other major connectivity projects under way as making it one of Malaysia's most promising property markets for landed homes and branded residences.
