PETALING JAYA (Oct 30): The EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards (EPEA) marks its 10th anniversary in 2026, recognising property developments for their design, innovation, landscape, sustainability and sales performance. Established in 2017, the awards aim to provide a credible benchmark for Singapore’s property developers and developments. Over the past decade, EPEA has received more than 550 submissions, with 67 developments and 14 developers earning top accolades.
For the first time, the awards will also recognise outstanding developments in Malaysia and Australia. Projects in these markets are judged against the same benchmarks used for Singapore developments, standards that have risen year after year as competition for the awards has intensified over the past decade. A win signals that a development holds its own against some of the region's most demanding criteria for design, innovation, landscape and sustainability.
The new categories also reflect Singaporeans' growing interest in property beyond their home market, whether for investment or personal use. For Malaysian homebuyers and investors, this gives the awards particular weight. A winning project has been measured not only against local peers but against a Singapore yardstick for design, functionality and the quality of shared spaces.
EdgeProp Malaysia managing director Alvin Ong said in welcoming the new entrants that Singaporeans have never confined their ambitions to Singapore. “Today, they are among the world's five biggest investors in overseas property,” Ong said. “We are recognising outstanding developments in selected markets abroad, including Malaysia and Australia. Developers there are doing great work, and we want buyers to know who they are.”
This year’s theme, “Celebrating a Decade of Excellence”, highlights the awards’ focus on developments that consider both functionality and aesthetics. Beyond residential properties, EPEA recognises developments across the office, industrial, retail, hotel and co-living sectors. The criteria for excellence vary across property sectors, depending on how developments are planned, designed and used.
Over the past decade, EPEA has continued to recognise developments based on design, functionality and sustainability. For homebuyers, such recognition provides another reference when evaluating whether a property meets their requirements, while investors can consider these attributes when assessing a development’s appeal and longer-term potential. This year’s awards recognise 70 winners across various categories.
