PETALING JAYA (Nov 5): Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has secured about RM920.8 million in additional mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit-out works for a data centre under development in Johor. In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Wednesday (Nov 4), SunCon said its wholly owned subsidiary, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, received the letter of award for the variation that day from an unnamed US-headquartered multinational technology company.

The letter also instructs the subsidiary to begin the additional works, with completion targeted by the first quarter of 2028. SunCon said its outstanding order book stood at RM11.7 billion as at Nov 4. As at that date, the group had secured RM8.06 billion in new orders for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 (FY2026), including the variation.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, SunCon expects the additional works to contribute positively to group earnings from FY2026 onwards. It expects no immediate material effect on earnings per share, net assets per share or gearing for FY2026.
