PNB Holdings shifts Metro Manila commercial portfolio to 100% renewable electricity

PNB Holdings Corp., the real estate arm of LT Group, Inc., is expanding sustainability and adaptive reuse initiatives across its Metro Manila property portfolio as it seeks to improve the efficiency and resilience of its commercial assets.

The company said its sustainable asset management strategy covers properties including the PNB Financial Center in Pasay City, the PNB Makati Center along Ayala Avenue, and an 8,000-square-metre property along the Buendia-Paseo de Roxas corridor. The properties form part of PNB Holdings’ real estate portfolio, which the company said was recently appraised at P80.9 billion.

As part of its clean energy transition, PNB Holdings partnered with First Gen Corp. to shift the PNB Financial Center and PNB Makati Center to 100% renewable electricity. The partnership uses more than five megawatts of geothermal power from the Tongonan facility in Leyte to supply the electricity requirements of the two Metro Manila commercial assets, the company said.

PNB Holdings said it has also integrated energy-efficiency measures into daily operations. Pumps, elevators, and chillers are scheduled based on real-time occupancy, while core facilities have been upgraded with light-emitting diode lighting and inverter-type technologies to reduce electricity consumption.

In 2025, the company launched EcoStation, a waste recycling program in partnership with waste management firm Rezbin. PNB Holdings said the program has diverted more than 32,100 recyclable deposits from landfills by encouraging tenants to segregate waste properly.

The 10-hectare PNB Financial Center in the Bay Area has also adopted water-saving measures, including the reuse of treated wastewater for landscape maintenance and other non-potable applications, the company said.

“Backed by a strong first-half 2026 performance, the company continues to invest in initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency, resilience, and long-term relevance of its assets,” PNB Holdings said. The sustainability initiatives come as LT Group reported attributable net income of P9.54 billion in the second quarter, up 23.47% from P7.73 billion a year earlier. Second-quarter revenue rose 6.32% to P34.72 billion.
