PETALING JAYA (Sept 9): Penang Development Corporation (PDC) is inviting companies to submit proposals to acquire about 15.81 acres of development land for commercial purposes along Jalan Batu Kawan in Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang.
According to PDC's proposal document, the 688,527 sq ft site carries a reserve price of RM75 psf, implying a minimum value of about RM51.64 million based on the stated land area. The site comprises Lots 415, 416, 2716, 2719, 2720, 2722, 2724, 20035, 20036, 20037 and 20038, as well as part of Lot 2710 in Mukim 14.
PDC described the parcel as state land formerly known as the listed lots. An application for the alienation of a freehold title is subject to approval by the state authority. An accompanying location plan places the irregularly shaped site along Jalan Batu Kawan, with the Bukit Tambun Toll Plaza among the landmarks shown.
Interested parties are required to state their proposed purchase price and payment method, and provide details of their proposed development, including its components and timeline. They must also submit their company profile and registration documents.
PDC said proposals may be considered based on the purchase price and intended development or use of the land. However, the evaluation benchmark remains at its sole and absolute discretion, and any acceptance is subject to PDC's approval. The corporation also reserves the right to reject any proposed purchase price, in whole or in part, without giving a reason.
The successful purchaser will be responsible for determining and complying with requirements imposed by the relevant authorities and public utility licensees in relation to the development or use of the land.
