Oxford Properties has appointed new leadership for its business in Europe and Asia Pacific, promoting James Boadle to head its businesses there from 23 November, the company said in an announcement on Wednesday. Boadle takes over the role from Joanne McNamara, who joined British Land as chief executive on 14 September. Alessandro Fiascaris will continue as Oxford's head of investments for Europe and Asia Pacific.
Boadle will oversee a portfolio of about £9 billion ($12.0 billion) in direct holdings, developments, operating businesses, joint ventures and funds across the two regions, which Oxford said represents about a third of its global portfolio. 'James is an exceptional leader who has a deep understanding of our business, strong relationships with both our partners and the market, and a proven ability to turn strategy into execution,' said Eric Plesman, Oxford's president and chief executive.
Boadle has led asset management and development for Oxford's European portfolio since 2024, with the company extending the role to cover Asia Pacific in July. His European record is anchored in logistics. Oxford bought M7 Real Estate in 2021, with Boadle joining the manager's board as a non-executive director that September, and the company credits him with a leadership role in both the acquisition and the partnership with AustralianSuper that followed.
That partnership, the European Supply Chain Investment Partnership, bought 31 logistics assets in the UK and France last December, covering 220,000 square metres (2.4 million square feet), and 13 warehouses in Spain for €181 million in June. The venture now holds 132 European logistics assets with a gross asset value above €1.7 billion, and the partners have said they aim to build it to €4.5 billion. In residential, Oxford credits Boadle with helping to lead its living-sector strategy, including the 2022 joint venture with funds managed by PineBridge Benson Elliot to acquire UK rental housing operator Sigma Capital Group.
Boadle has spent almost 12 years at Oxford, joining its European investments team in January 2015 before becoming a vice president in 2019 and senior vice president for Europe in 2021. Before that he spent more than six years in central London capital markets, including stints at Savills and CBRE. Fiascaris joined Oxford from Blackstone in January 2022 to lead its Asia Pacific business, and told the Mingtiandi Singapore Forum in May that he expected geopolitical turmoil to slow transactions in the second half of the year.
Australia is central to Oxford's regional strategy, Fiascaris said in May, when the company announced that Kwang Pithayachariyakul would relocate from Toronto to Sydney in June to oversee asset management in Australia and report to him. Oxford and its portfolio companies manage A$15 billion in assets in the country. Oxford and Investa opened Indi Footscray, a 702-apartment project in Melbourne and the third in their Indi build-to-rent series, in May. Oxford also re-committed in March to the second logistics fund series raised by Sydney manager Hale Capital Partners, which secured A$750 million with Oxford and Warburg Pincus anchoring the raise.
