PETALING JAYA (Oct 23): One Square, a new F&B and lifestyle destination by Bandar Utama City Group, has opened in Bandar Utama, offering a mix of dining, wellness and community spaces. Located within Bandar Utama’s established commercial centre, One Square is near 1 Utama Shopping Centre, One World Hotel, 1 First Avenue, 8 First Avenue and 1 Powerhouse, serving nearby office workers and residents.

The group said the development was designed as a smaller alternative to conventional shopping malls, with a predominantly single-storey layout, alfresco spaces and landscaping providing a setting for everyday dining, shopping and leisure. The centre offers pedestrian access from the Bandar Utama MRT station, with on-site parking and additional parking in surrounding office buildings.

Tenants already operating include Village Grocer, The Flow Studio, Yellow Brick Road, Bengbeng Sourdough, Wolfgang’s by Wolf & Turtle, Tea Garden, AA Pharmacy, Suga Nails and IJO.Matcha Bar. The group said Village Grocer’s outlet is its first in Bandar Utama. More tenants are expected to open progressively in November and December 2026, including EM'S Soft Chunky Cookies, Contour, Guru Guru, Tap Room, Ayam Gepuk Hut and Fresh D.

Bandar Utama City Group managing director Tan Sri Teo Chiang Liang said the development reflects the group’s approach to maintaining the relevance and value of its assets amid changing lifestyle trends. “We believe that good real estate is not just about building new, but also about creating and maintaining value in our assets by rethinking and adapting our spaces to remain relevant to ever changing lifestyle trends,” he said in a statement on Friday (Oct 23).

For group director Teo Siu Ping, One Square is a reflection of her personal touch to a retail experience centred on daily needs and community activities, with an emphasis on homegrown Malaysian brands. “I personally handpicked and curated all 19 vendors here, as this is something unique that I want to offer to the neighbourhood,” she told EdgeProp. “One Square is a place for community. People can dine, do a quick grocery run and just meet for coffee. And we found that the residents here always come back for more of something that they like.”

She said that, within the established commercial centre of Bandar Utama, One Square offers a convenient one-stop destination for people in the neighbourhood to dine, shop for groceries and even go to the gym. Ping said One Square offers more than 200 parking bays within the hub, as well as 70 valet parking bays. The opening programme includes tenant launches, a farmers’ market organised by Village Grocer, promotions and workshops at the Centre Court, which is designed to accommodate bazaars, pop-up events, wellness activities and corporate functions.
