The National Land Monetisation Corporation (NLMC) has initiated the e-auction of a 5.119-acre land parcel owned by HIL (India) in Delhi at a reserve price of ₹829.69 crore. The sale is part of the government's push to monetise surplus assets of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). This is the third e-auction advertised by NLMC in the last two months.
The land is located in the Najafgarh Industrial Area along Rohtak Road, Shivaji Marg, with approximately 140 metres of road frontage and connectivity to the Delhi Metro's Green Line. It offers development potential with a Floor Space Index (FSI) of up to 400 under applicable Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) provisions, subject to statutory conditions and approvals. The property is currently designated for industrial use, with conversion permissible under applicable norms.
NLMC Chief Executive Officer Rohan Chand Thakur said the government has given significant priority to monetising surplus and underutilised land assets of CPSEs. "The third e-auction publicly advertised by NLMC within the last two months reflects our continued efforts to translate this priority into tangible outcomes," he added. HIL (India) Chairman and Managing Director Kuldeep Singh said the outright sale seeks to facilitate productive utilisation of the asset and encouraged eligible bidders to examine the auction documents.
The online auction will accept bids in multiples of ₹1 crore per acre, with the highest bid determining the sale price. Consortium participation is permitted with a maximum of three members. Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit via bank guarantee or NEFT/RTGS as stipulated in the Request for Proposal (RFP).
A pre-bid meeting was held on Tuesday in New Delhi, with representatives of NLMC, HIL (India) and CBRE India, the transaction advisor, addressing queries on the property, auction documents, eligibility criteria and the bidding process. NLMC is a wholly owned government company under the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance.
