Megaworld Corp. President and CEO Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso ranked 87th on Fortune's 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia for 2026, rising from 92nd place last year and marking her third consecutive year on the list. She was the only Philippine executive from the real estate sector included in this year's ranking, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Ms. Gutierrez-Alfonso joined Megaworld in 1990 and became its president and CEO in 2024. Megaworld posted a net income of P12.7 billion in the first half of 2026, up 5 per cent from a year earlier. The property developer has 37 townships across Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, as well as more than 1.7 million square metres of office gross leasable area, 17 hotels, and 27 lifestyle malls, according to the company.

Three other Filipina executives made the annual list, which covers 100 women from 14 markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Mynt President and CEO Martha M. Sazon led the Philippine contingent at No. 35, followed by Land Bank of the Philippines President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz at 77th and Union Bank of the Philippines President and CEO Ana Maria A. Delgado at 98th.

Fortune said its rankings considered the scale and performance of the businesses led by the executives, as well as innovation, influence, career trajectory, and broader impact. "Selection is editorial and data-driven. We draw on public filings, company disclosures, independent reporting, and nominations — both internal and external," Fortune said. "As in prior years, our evaluation emphasizes company scale and health, career momentum, influence, innovation, and contributions to social impact," it added.

Ms. Sazon leads Mynt, the financial technology company behind GCash, which is preparing to list on the Philippine Stock Exchange. Fortune said about 90 million Filipinos have used GCash, which offers services including remittances, savings, and credit, while about 41.5 million use the application each month. Ms. Ortiz has served as president and CEO of state-run LandBank since 2023, having previously served as the first Filipino CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Philippines. Ms. Delgado joined UnionBank in 2003 after working at Citibank and became the bank's president and CEO in January 2025; she became the first woman to lead the Bankers Association of the Philippines in March.

For the broader Asian ranking, DBS Group CEO Tan Su Shan retained the top spot, followed by Luxshare Precision Industry Chairwoman and CEO Grace Wang at No. 2 and Lens Technology founder and Chairwoman Zhou Qunfei at No. 3. Technology had the largest representation on the list with 16 women, followed by banking with 14. Fortune said 24 of this year's honorees were first-time entrants.
