Magma Kiara explores hotel interiors tie-up with Jalex for Wolo Mont Kiara
Magma Kiara Sdn Bhd has signed a non-binding MOC with interior fit-out specialist Jalex Sdn Bhd to explore appointing it as hotel interior adviser for the RM850 million Wolo Hotel & Residences, Mont Kiara KL. The 60-storey mixed-use development is targeting completion in Q4 2030.
PETALING JAYA (Oct 29): Magma Kiara Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Main Market-listed Magma Group Bhd, has signed a memorandum of collaboration (MOC) with interior fit-out specialist Jalex Sdn Bhd to explore appointing it as hotel interior adviser for Wolo Hotel & Residences, Mont Kiara KL.
In a statement on Wednesday (Oct 28), Magma Kiara said the approximately RM850 million mixed-use development along Persiaran Dutamas comprises 378 private residences, 98 serviced residences, a 63-room boutique hotel and retail spaces. The hotel will occupy levels 49 to 56 of the 60-storey development and, upon opening, will be affiliated with Design Hotels and participate in Marriott Bonvoy, the company said. Construction is underway, with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of 2030.
Under the proposed collaboration, Jalex may advise on hotel interior design coordination, material selection, and furniture, fixtures and equipment, working alongside appointed designers, consultants and contractors. Its scope may also include procurement coordination, mock-up reviews, inspections and handover. The MOC is non-binding and does not constitute a formal appointment. Any engagement will require mutually agreed terms and a definitive written agreement.
Established in 1988, Jalex reports having completed more than 500 projects, including 88 hotel projects. The statement listed The RuMa Hotel and Residences, Else Kuala Lumpur and The Datai Langkawi among its hospitality projects.
Magma Kiara CEO Alan Wong Siew Ong said the proposed collaboration would draw on Jalex’s experience in hospitality interiors. “Through this proposed collaboration, we hope to bring that depth of experience into Wolo Mont Kiara KL as we work towards creating a distinctive and lasting hospitality experience,” he said.
