LBS brings MYDIN supermarket to KITA @ Cybersouth township in Dengkil

LBS Bina Group has signed a tenancy agreement with Mydin Mohamed Holdings for a supermarket at KITA @ Cybersouth in Dengkil, Selangor. The MYDIN outlet will occupy about 1.37 acres with a 24,000 sq ft built-up area, becoming the township's first supermarket.

PETALING JAYA (Sept 7): LBS Bina Group Bhd has formalised a tenancy agreement with Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (MYDIN) for the retailer to open what the developer said will be the first supermarket at KITA @ Cybersouth in Dengkil, Selangor.

The planned MYDIN supermarket will occupy about 1.37 acres and have a built-up area of 24,000 sq ft, LBS said in a statement on Sept 7. LBS said in its press release on Monday (Sept 7) that the outlet will complement KITA Avenue Square, where shoplots are under construction and priced from RM1.399 million.

The agreement was formalised on Sept 5 at the LBS Discovery Gallery at KITA @ Cybersouth, in conjunction with the developer's KITA Merdeka celebration. LBS group managing director and CEO Datuk Wira Lim Hock Guan signed the agreement with MYDIN managing director Datuk Wira Dr Ameer Ali Mydin. LBS group executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San and MYDIN executive director Ahimmat Mydin witnessed the signing.

Hock Guan said the supermarket would provide residents with easier access to everyday essentials as the township continues to grow. “As KITA @ Cybersouth continues to grow, it is important that the amenities and services within the township evolve in line with our residents’ needs,” he said. “The introduction of MYDIN as the township’s first supermarket is another step towards creating a more complete community, where everyday essentials are within easy reach.”

Ameer Ali said MYDIN's decision to establish a supermarket at KITA @ Cybersouth reflected the retailer's confidence in Cybersouth's growth potential and its expanding resident base, particularly young families. According to LBS, KITA @ Cybersouth spans about 633 acres of Malay Reserved Land and has about 16,000 planned units. Nearly 40% of the units have been completed, 5% are under development and the remaining 55% are in the planning stage, it said.

The developer estimates the township's population catchment at about 67,000 people and said about 63% of its purchasers are aged 40 and below. The statement did not disclose the supermarket's expected opening date, tenancy tenure or rental terms.
