DMCI Resorts to add MICE facilities across leisure project pipeline

DMCI Hospitality and Leisure, Inc. (DMCI Resorts), the hospitality arm of DMCI Homes, plans to incorporate meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) facilities across its leisure developments, a company official said.

“In all developments that we are currently putting on, there’s a MICE sector that we’re already able to see, not just in Solmera Coast, but in other developments that we have,” DMCI Resorts General Manager Angelo R. Ascue said during a media roundtable on Wednesday.

At Solmera Coast in San Juan, Batangas, property developer DMCI Homes said Solmera Beach Park Resort, which will be operated by DMCI Resorts, will include an approximately 811-square-metre main function hall and a 419 sq m veranda. DMCI Homes said the resort is targeted to open in February 2027.

The developer said additional function spaces will be located at the Kartika and Bumi buildings, including roof deck venues for meetings, receptions, and special events. It added that landscaped lawns and other open-air areas will also serve as venues for outdoor gatherings. DMCI Homes said Solmera Beach Park Resort is designed to cater to both leisure travellers and organised groups as San Juan gains traction as a venue for corporate gatherings, conferences, and group events.

Property consultancy Colliers Philippines said strong domestic tourism continues to support the viability of leisure-oriented developments in provinces such as Batangas, which remains among the country’s top destinations for overnight travellers. Colliers also cited sustained growth in domestic travel and tourism spending as factors supporting investment interest in leisure projects outside the National Capital Region.

DMCI Homes said Solmera Beach Park Resort will offer studio units, as well as one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites for individuals, families, and groups. The developer said the resort’s amenities will include a pool complex spanning more than 4,000 sq m, featuring a lap pool, kiddie pool, pool pavilion, landscaped open spaces, and lounge areas. DMCI Homes added that guests will have access to the Sky Deck Infinity Pool and Sky Lounge at the Matahari Building, as well as dining, spa, and wellness facilities.

Parent company DMCI Holdings, Inc. reported second-quarter net income of P6.5 billion, up 61 per cent from P4 billion a year earlier. DMCI Holdings said the increase was driven by stronger contributions from its mining, power, construction, cement, and real estate businesses. On Wednesday, shares in DMCI Holdings rose by five centavos, or 0.64 per cent, to P7.90 apiece.
