CPP Investments, PDG, SC Zeus to Discuss APAC Data Centre Deals on MTD TV

Executives from CPP Investments, Princeton Digital Group and SC Zeus Data Centers will join MTD TV this week for three live discussions on digital infrastructure in Asia Pacific, exploring the capital requirements of hyperscale expansion, one operator’s growth strategy and opportunities across Southeast Asia.

Mingtiandi’s APAC Data Centre Forum resumes Tuesday with CPP Investments’ managing director of real estate, Hari Krishna V, and Baker McKenzie partner Edwin Wong as they look at investment in Asia’s hyperscale market. Running from 10am to 10.30am Hong Kong time, the panel will examine investment opportunities and the power, land and construction challenges facing developers as cloud and AI demand drives expansion.

Krishna joins the discussion following the Canadian pension manager’s commitments of up to INR 70 billion (US$742 million) to a digital infrastructure partnership with India’s CtrlS Datacenters and US$1.3 billion to Ares Management’s data centre partnership in Japan. He oversees CPP Investments’ Indian real estate investments, having joined the organisation in 2014. Wong co-leads Baker McKenzie’s Asia Pacific data centre focus group and advises sponsors and institutional investors on private funds and investment structures.

Wednesday’s spotlight interview with Princeton Digital Group will feature co-founder, chairman and CEO Rangu Salgame. Beginning at 10am Hong Kong time, the half-hour conversation will explore the company’s expansion strategy, financing plans and response to demand from hyperscalers and AI customers. The Singapore-based developer and operator has more than 1.8 gigawatts of capacity in operation and under development across eight markets, following its expansion into Australia.

PDG outlined plans in March to raise up to US$5 billion in debt during 2026 to support its expansion. At the same time, the company announced US$350 million in additional financing, increasing an existing facility to US$750 million and converting it into a sustainability-linked loan with pricing tied to operational and sustainability targets. The debt target follows US$2.5 billion in capital raised during 2025, including a US$1.3 billion preferred equity investment from Stonepeak.

Thursday’s programme turns to opportunities in Southeast Asia’s data centre market, with SC Zeus Data Centers CEO Joe Gooi, Wong & Partners partner Ai Leen Tang and Benjamin Chow, executive director at MSCI Research & Development. The panel runs from 10am to 10.30am Hong Kong time. Gooi joins following SC Zeus’s agreement with SoftBank unit SB Telecom Singapore and Malaysia’s Robust HPC Group to develop AI data centres in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The discussion comes as Southeast Asia’s live IT capacity is forecast to reach 4.3 gigawatts in 2027, up 41 per cent from 3.1GW this year, according to Knight Frank. Registration for all three shows is free for basic and pro Mingtiandi members through the APAC Data Centre Forum page.
