Budget 2027: DBKL gets RM400m for 120 acres of new green space
Kuala Lumpur City Hall will receive RM400 million to create 120 acres of green space, restore parks, and upgrade public housing. A 100-acre leasehold site in Bukit Kiara will be gazetted as a Federal Park, and 22km of covered walkways will connect key landmarks.
KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will be allocated RM400 million to create 120 acres of new green spaces, restore existing parks, and upgrade public facilities and public housing.
A 100-acre leasehold site in Bukit Kiara will also be gazetted as a Federal Park for public use, according to the Budget 2027 announcement.
DBKL will build 22km of covered pedestrian walkways connecting landmarks such as the National Mosque, Dataran Merdeka and Central Market. Covered walkways will also be built from public housing areas to commercial premises, schools, clinics and public transport stations.
