Ayala Land to merge urban and regional estates under single group from Jan 2027

AYALA LAND, Inc. (ALI) will integrate its Urban Estates and Regional Estates businesses under the AyalaLand Estates Group starting 1 Jan 2027, consolidating the management of its nationwide estate operations under Jaime Z. Urquijo.

In a regulatory filing on Wednesday, the listed property developer said the reorganization is intended to strengthen its long-term growth strategy and improve organizational effectiveness.

“As part of the corporation’s efforts to strengthen long-term growth strategy and enhance organizational effectiveness, management will integrate Urban Estates and Regional Estates businesses under the AyalaLand Estates Group, effective Jan. 1, 2027,” ALI said.

Mr Urquijo, currently senior vice-president and head of Urban Estates, will lead the integrated estates group starting 1 Jan. The reorganization follows the retirement of Christopher B. Maglanoc, senior vice-president and head of Regional Estates, effective 31 Dec.

Mr Urquijo joined ALI’s property operations in April after being seconded from parent Ayala Corp. to head Urban Estates. His appointment took effect on 15 April, with Mr Urquijo tasked with overseeing the continued development of ALI’s Metro Manila estates. Before the secondment, he served as Ayala Corp.’s chief sustainability and risk officer.

ALI’s estates business covers the development and management of large-scale, mixed-use communities that combine residential, retail, office, hotel, and other commercial components. The company currently has 53 estates nationwide, including major developments such as the Makati central business district, Bonifacio Global City, Cebu Park District, and Nuvali. ALI’s estate operations also cover commercial and industrial opportunities within its master-planned developments.

ALI shares fell by 28 centavos or 1.86 per cent to close at P14.74 apiece on Wednesday.
