Aurum Royal Singapore, a 4-star boutique hotel on Erskine Road, has been repossessed by its landlord Grace International just months after opening. Guests with bookings after Sept 2 were turned away and offered refunds, while a notice at the reception desk stated the hotel had closed.

Aurum Royal Singapore, a 4-star boutique hotel on Erskine Road, has been repossessed by its landlord just months after opening, leaving guests stranded and bookings cancelled. The hotel’s profile on booking site Hotels.com listed it as closed as of 2 Sept 2026, and guests with reservations after that date received emails from booking platforms informing them of the closure and offering full refunds, according to a report by The Edge Singapore.

However, some guests only discovered the situation upon arrival at the Erskine Road property, where a notice at the reception desk stated the hotel had closed and would not honour any bookings, the report added. The hotel had opened in November 2025, replacing the former Scarlet Singapore hotel at the same address, which had been operated by Singapore-based hospitality management company Grace International for two decades before closing in May 2025.

Grace International, the hotel’s landlord, previously owned and operated The Scarlet Singapore at the site. The repossession of Aurum Royal Singapore comes shortly after its debut, highlighting the challenges faced by the boutique hospitality sector in the city-state.
