Aboitiz Construction, ACCIONA launch facilities management JV in Philippines

Aboitiz Construction and Spain's ACCIONA have formed a joint venture, ACCIONA Facility Management Philippines, to provide integrated facilities management services. The venture targets the pharmaceutical, industrial, corporate and transport sectors, combining local expertise with global capabilities

Aboitiz Construction, Inc. has formed a joint venture with Spanish infrastructure company ACCIONA S.A. to provide integrated facilities management services in the Philippines. The venture, ACCIONA Facility Management Philippines, will serve companies in the pharmaceutical, industrial, corporate and transport sectors, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The joint venture will offer maintenance and technical services, business process outsourcing, logistics, support services, learning and housekeeping services. Aboitiz Construction is the construction and industrial arm of the Aboitiz group.

“Partnering with ACCIONA combines our strong local presence and 50 years of engineering experience with global expertise in integrated facilities management to deliver world-class solutions in the Philippines,” Aboitiz Construction President and Chairman Anton Mari G. Perdices said.

The joint venture will combine ACCIONA’s facilities management experience with Aboitiz Construction’s local operations. “We chose ACCIONA because of their competence, internal capabilities, and their successful model of international expansion, alongside the alignment between our values and the way we believe the business should be conducted,” Aboitiz Construction Executive Director Antonio Peñalver said.

The venture will use digital tools and other technology in managing its operations. ACCIONA operates integrated facilities management projects in 10 countries, according to the company.

“The Philippines is a strategic market for ACCIONA and an important hub for our presence in Asia. This joint venture with Aboitiz allows us to bring our extensive international know-how, innovation and digital capabilities in Integrated Facility Management to support the evolving needs of clients and build a strong platform for long-term growth,” ACCIONA Southeast Asia Infrastructure Managing Director Ruben Camba said.

Aboitiz Construction said the joint venture plans to develop a nationwide facilities management platform serving companies that outsource the operation and maintenance of their facilities. The venture is also expected to create skilled jobs and provide training opportunities for local workers.
