SkyWorld named best-performing property company at The Edge Malaysia ESG Awards 2026

SkyWorld Development Bhd has been named Best Performing Company in the Property Sector at The Edge Malaysia ESG Awards 2026. The recognition follows its gold award in the Emerging Leader category at the 2025 edition and reflects its integration of environmental, social and governance considerations

PETALING JAYA (Sept 3): SkyWorld Development Bhd has been named Best Performing Company in the Property Sector at The Edge Malaysia ESG Awards 2026, following its gold award in the Emerging Leader category at the 2025 edition.

In a statement on Wednesday (Sept 2), the property developer said the recognition reflected its efforts to incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations across its business, including property development, quality management, environmental stewardship, social impact and corporate governance. The awards are organised by The Edge Malaysia in collaboration with Bursa Malaysia and FTSE Russell.

SkyWorld CEO Lee Chee Seng said sustainability was integrated into the group's approach to development rather than treated as a separate initiative. “At SkyWorld, we view sustainability not as a separate agenda, but as an integral part of responsible city development. It shapes the way we design and deliver our developments, manage our operations, engage our stakeholders and contribute to the communities in which we operate,” he said.

The group said its ESG approach is guided by its “Make Living Better” purpose, which covers its efforts to create quality homes, better living environments and sustainable communities. Among SkyWorld's sustainability initiatives is its adoption of Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC), under which a significant portion of the building process is shifted from construction sites to a controlled factory environment.

SkyWorld said PPVC can help minimise material wastage, improve construction consistency and reduce the amount of work carried out on-site, while supporting a safer and more efficient construction environment. The group said its use of technology and construction innovation forms part of a broader effort to improve quality, efficiency and sustainability throughout the development lifecycle.

SkyWorld said it would continue exploring practical measures to improve the sustainability of its developments as it expands its development activities in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
