PETALING JAYA (6 Nov 2026) – Datuk Lee Yeow Seng has resigned as a non-independent non-executive director of IOI Corp Bhd, effective Friday (6 Nov), to focus more fully on his leadership responsibilities at IOI Properties Group Bhd (IOIPG).
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday, IOI Corp said his decision reflected his commitment to advancing IOIPG’s strategic priorities and creating long-term value for shareholders, particularly given the property group’s significant presence in Singapore. The filing also cited his role as executive chairman of IOIPG Malaysia REIT, which is scheduled to list on Bursa Malaysia on 25 Nov 2026.
Lee, 47, had no disagreement with the board, and there were no matters relating to his resignation that needed to be brought to shareholders’ attention, according to the filing. He was involved in corporate affairs and general management within IOI Group before IOIPG’s demerger and listing. He previously worked for about two years at the London and Singapore offices of an international financial services group.
A barrister-at-law of the Inner Temple, Lee holds an LLB (Honours) from King’s College London. He is the brother of Datuk Lee Yeow Chor and is deemed a major shareholder of IOI Corp through his interest in Progressive Holdings Sdn Bhd. The filing disclosed his indirect interest in about 3.13 billion ordinary shares in IOI Corp.
